The Mandeville City Council recently approved a change order for a net increase of $52,940 on its 2004-05 Street Improvement Program.

Jimmy Ray, an engineer and architect with Meyer Engineering, said the changes are because some projects were added and others removed. He added that a time extension is needed for the Villere Street drainage project.

According to the order from contractor Gilmore and Son Construction, the contact would be completed by June 6, 28 days later than its original completion date.

The original contract price was $1,246,500 but would go up to $1,405,830 once the change orders were approved.

It listed its change order justifications as:

  • Install owner-supplied drain line on the southside of the Tammany Trace between Clausel and Lamarque streets, as requested by the city;

  • Add asphalt parking lot on Girod Street at General Pershing as requested by the city; and

  • Eliminate drainage improvements from Rue Avignoin to Rue Beauvais. The work was constructed on a previous street project.

    In a letter dated March 21 from Rick Meyer, owner of Meyer Engineers of Metairie, he recommended the net increase and 28-day time extension.

      " "not only was he a one man crime wave he always had other people with him", so I guess, that would take the "one man" out of the crime wave. "
