Covington's peeping tom comes back By Joe LunaSt. Tammany News Covington's peeping tom made two more appearances about 10 p.m. Wednesday, exposing himself to residents in the area of 15th Avenue. Wednesday's offender is the same man who has been peeping on residents in the area and exposing himself to them for some time now, Covington Police Lt. Jack West said. It is the second incident since the peeping tom resurfaced early this month, West said. Before those assaults, the man had been out of the spotlight for about eight months. West said that police are continuing to monitor the situation and hope to catch the offender soon. To that end, police are encouraging everyone living in the affected area to be on guard and notify Covington police if the man is sighted. Residents in the area have described the man as tall, slender and Caucasian with a jogger's body, West said. The man also recently took is ski mask off, revealing thin brown hair. Based on descriptions by witnesses police are speculating that the man is between the ages of 20 and 40 years old. "We want to catch him really bad," West said. Despite the best efforts of the police, the man remains illusive and his identity a secret. "One of the problems we have had, is many citizens are laughing at him, and not reporting the incidents to police," West said. "We ask anyone coming in contact with him to call the Covington Police Department immediately at, 892-8500." |
