It wasn't supposed to happen this easy for St. Scholastica Academy, which moved up in class this season to one of the toughest districts (5-I).
But the Doves winning ways continued Tuesday on the road against Slidell, 25-14, 25-12, 25-17. The Lady Tigers never led in the match.

"I told my kids that we have to bring our 'A' game because we are in a tough district," Davis said. "Seeing how big they were in warm-ups, we had to make sure our kids came out and played. We wanted them to play every point like it was their last."
The Doves showed early on who the better team was and did not back off much during the match.
SSA took a 4-0 lead in the first game. SHS got as close as 6-3, but the Doves went on a 5-1 spurt, increasing the advantage to 11-4.
After SHS scored to make it 11-5, Camille Walther and Amanda Gottfried each had kills for the next two scores. Gottfried finished with nine kills.
After the Doves made it 19-9, Gottfried came up with another kill, making the score 20-9.
Slidell tried to get back in it. With the score 22-13, Kaitlyn Crippin threw down a kill, but SSA was too much for the Lady Tigers.
The second game started out even worse for SHS. Behind the serving of Gottfried, the Doves flew out to a 7-0 lead before the Lady Tigers called a timeout. Gottfried's ace capped the spurt.
During the run, Brennan Faucheux had two kills and two blocks. She finished with four blocks. She said her squad played with a winning attitude.
"We came out and played hard. The whole team did well," Faucheux said.
Slidell did not quit and scored four of the next five points to get back in it and trailed 8-4.
St. Scholastica increased its lead to 13-6, but SHS scored the next two points.
SSA would have none of the comeback and tallied the next seven straight points. The first three came from a kill by Nicole Huguley and two by Gottfried.
The Doves had no intentions of letting the Lady Tigers claw their way back in it, taking a commanding two games to none lead.
The third game was the best one of the evening. In the early going, every time SSA made a run, SHS came back to tie the game.
In the game's first 26 points there were six ties, but Slidell never could get the advantage.
After Hannah Gambrell, who had three kills, knotted the score at 13-13 with a kill, things turned against the Lady Tigers. It started when Crippin's serve hit the top of the net, went over and fell out of bounds to give SSA the lead.
Slidell called timeout after Bobbie Delahoussaye dinked one over and gave the Doves a 16-13 lead. SHS used its timeouts, trying to get back into it, but the Doves were just too much in the sweep.
Delahoussaye led the Doves with 27 assists, while her sister, Sam, recorded 13 digs. Jolie Helm contributed 10 kills for St. Scholastica.
Allison Dolan had five kills for SHS. Charmaine Walker led the Lady Tigers with four digs, while Erica Williams posted four assists and three kills.
Slidell coach Nancy Plaisance credited the Doves for their play, but said she felt her team should have competed better.
"I thought we could have played better," Plaisance said. "They are so consistent. They did a good job of finding the holes on the floor. Our coverage is there. We may not always make the play, but you've got to be where you're supposed to be."
