Troullier throws for 2 TDS, rushes for 2

Salmen junior quarterback Julien Troullier was responsible for four Spartan touchdowns (two rushing, two passing) as his team ended a two-game losing streak with a 40-14 victory over East Jefferson. The District 9-4A game was played Saturday night in Joe Yenni Stadium.

Salmen (4-4, 1-2) will make a short drive to face Pearl River Friday night in an effort to tie the Rebels in district. East Jeff (1-7, 0-3) is 0-3 against St. Tammany Parish teams with previous losses to Northshore and Pearl River.

Troullier, who did all of his scoring damage in the first half, said he has never had a game like that. He added that his goal is to continue to work hard to help his squad.

"It felt good to do it all in the first half. It's the most I've scored in one game," Troullier said. "I'm trying to improve myself to help make the team better."

Troullier had scoring runs of 9 and 29 yards. His passes were 66 yards to Shane Donahue and 10 yards to Isiah Tate.

The Spartan special teams also came to the forefront when Jordan Stevenson blocked a punt. That led to one of Troullier's touchdown runs. He was pulled after the first drive of the second half when running back Anthony Johnson crossed the goal line from 19 yards out, giving the Spartans a 40-6 advantage.

Salmen coach Jerry Leonard said his team did a good job in all facets. He also gave his signal caller high praise for his play throughout the season.

"We played much better. The offense executed real well. The defense was consistent. The special teams had one breakdown but played well," Leonard said.

"Julien has gotten better every game and improved throughout the season. We're trying to get him to limit his mistakes and get even better."
