Pelican Park hosts open house

Pelican Park is hosting an Open House Celebration on Saturday from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. on the grounds of the Castine Center.

This event will commemorate the park's 20th Anniversary and the Ribbon

Cutting Ceremony for Phase 3, which is a 6.7 million dollar project that includes a Skate Park.

Festivities will include a broadcast by DIVA 92.3 FM with food by Wow's Cafe and Wingery. There will also be snowballs, jambalaya, hamburgers, hot dogs, popcorn, desserts along with sodas by Pepsi and Coke.

The event will include 10 inflatables and game booths.

Visit characters (Gumbo, Hugo, etc) and Louisiana State University players. It will also feature free giveaways.

The event is free and open to the public.
