Fontainebleau High celebrates homecoming

Fontainebleau High School has recently announced its selection for homecoming court. The school will be holding its homecoming game tonight.

The court is as follows:

Senior Maid Kimberly Rose Cousin is the daughter of Jimmy and Madeleine Laurent and Paul and Faye Cousin. Kimberly is currently a member of the National Honor Society. She is a former two-year member of the Steppers team. Kim enjoys watching and playing sports, especially softball and baseball. She loves working with children and has worked as a student mentor for the last three years. She also volunteers at her church. Kimberly plans to attend the University of Lafayette and major in business or education. She plans to be an entrepreneur. Kim's father, Mr. Jimmy Laurent, serves as her field escort.

Senior Maid Samantha Elizabeth Dupaquier is the daughter of Joseph and Monique Dupaquier. Samantha currently serves as president of National Honor Society and as an officer for each the National Hispanic Honor Society, Quiz Bowl, and Photography Club. She has also been a member of Mu Alpha Theta and Key Club. For the past three years, Samantha performed with the cheerleading squad. She also played on the varsity tennis team since her freshman year and has been a competitive USTA tennis player. Additional achievements include the Hugh O'Brien Youth Leadership Award. Samantha hopes to attend Rice University, where she will pursue her degree as an engineering major. She also hopes that traveling the world will be part of her career. Samantha's father, Mr. Joseph Dupaquier, escorts his daughter on the field.

Senior Maid Uzunma Chioma Udeh is the daughter of Igwe and Ikechi Udeh. Uzunma is a top athlete and plays volleyball and runs track. She is a two-time Triple Jump State Champion and was once chosen as an A+ Student Athlete by WWL-TV. She is also a member of the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She serves as her Senior Class Secretary. Uzunma plans to go to college and then medical school with the hopes of becoming a general practitioner. Mr. Igwe Udeh, her father, is Uzunma's field escort.

Senior Maid Lauren Michelle Wicker is the daughter of Mitch and Lyndra Wicker. She is a Top Dog and homeroom senator. She is also a member of the National Honor Society. She is an "A" student and was chosen as the most outstanding student in many different subjects, including English III and Consumer Homemaking. She is a first-place District Literary Rally winner in Consumer Homemaking. Lauren has been listed in Who's Who among American High School Students. She would like to attend SLU and major in secondary education. She hopes to teach either high school or junior high. Lauren's field escort is her father, Mr. Mitch Wicker.

Junior Maid Natalie Amanda Cerise is the daughter of Donald and Jacqueline Cerise. She is the twin sister of Alex Cerise. Motocross and drag racing are Natalie's favorite sports and she enjoys working on motorized vehicles. Natalie plays soccer and football. She also stays active by running and swimming. She is an avid sports fan who seeks to be involved in any sport. Natalie has not decided whether to attend the University of Lafayette or the University of New Orleans. After college, she wants to marry and raise loving and responsible children. Becoming a lawyer, a criminologist or a paramedic are each currently a part of her dreams. Natalie is escorted on the field by her father, Mr. Donald Cerise.

Junior Maid Hannah Elizabeth Gurievsky is the daughter of Barry and Darlene Gurievsky. Hannah is a three-year member of both the Key Club and the National Honor Society. She has been a member of the soccer team and the basketball team. She also served as the soccer team captain. Hannah is a three-year letterman in FHS basketball and is in the top 10 percent of her class. Hannah plans to attend LSU and major in business and marketing. Her future goals include graduation with a Masters degree in business administration, marriage and a family. She plans to return and reside in Mandeville, where volunteering where needed will be a priority. Mr. Barry Gurievsky, Hannah's father, serves as her field escort.

Junior Maid Paula Krista Henry is the daughter of Kelvin and Paulette Henry. Paula currently serves as a member of the National Honor Society, the National Hispanic Honor Society, the National Society of High School Athletes and Mock Trial club. She has been involved in the Key Club for two years. Paula is also an athlete participating in track and cheerleading. Paula received the Outstanding Cheerleader Award her sophomore year. She is also involved with her church and is a member of the Youth Council. Paula plans to attend the University of Florida or LSU and major in business management or law. Serving as her field escort is Paula's father, Mr. Kelvin Henry.

Sophomore Maid Holly Michelle Hudson is the daughter of Michael and Tana Hudson. She is currently a member of the FHS Agape Club. Last year, she actively participated in the Top Dog/Little Dog program. Holly also runs track and excels in clearing hurdles. Her future plans include attending LSU to major in sports medicine. After establishing her career, she hopes to begin a family and work with children by helping them to create positive outlooks. Holly is an active member of her youth group and currently works with children after school - helping them with their homework. Holly's father, Mr. Michael Hudson, is her field escort.

Sophomore Maid Megan Lynn Wager is the daughter of Joseph Wager and Kelly Wager. Megan is a baseball fan and has been a Diamond girl for two years. She plans to attend Louisiana State University. Her future plans also include working with children by becoming a child psychologist. She is currently active in her church youth group. Megan is takes honors classes and enjoys spending time with her friends. Megan's field escort is her father, Mr. Joseph Wager.

Freshman Maid Rosa-lee Marino is the daughter of Bernie and Jill Marino. She is an active member of Students Against Destructive Decisions and Pride Troupe. Rosa-lee plays volleyball and is the Libero for the freshman team. While at the junior high, Rosa-lee was a member of the National Honor Society. She plans to attend Louisiana State University, majoring in medicine as she hopes to become a physician. Rosa-lee's field escort is Mr. Bernie Marino, her father.
