Patrick Ryan of Mandeville, and Andrew Dufresne of Slidell won the second annual Slidell Air Show poster contest.

Ryan, a fourth-grader at Lake Harbor Middle School, won the children's division, and local Slidell artist Dufresne took top honors in the adult division of the competition.

Both artists had to submit a poster that symbolized the theme of the 2008 Slidell Air Show, which is the Gulf War.

Each artist won $200. Dufresne's poster will be reproduced and will be the official poster of the air show. His poster will hang in the lobby of the Slidell Municipal Airport next to the 2007 air show poster. Ryan's poster will be on display in the airport during the 2008 Slidell Air Show.

The 2008 Slidell Air Show will be April 5.

Dufresne's poster will have a limited number of prints and will be for sale.

" What a great loss to the people of Chalmette and the many others who left. But it's a big gain for the people of Pearl River.
Not often in life will you meet so many good people in one place.
May God bless Steve and Karen and his many fine employees. They deserve it. "
