Slidell Bank robber remains at-large By Anne LautzenheiserSt. Tammany News Slidell police are searching for a man who reportedly robbed the St. Tammany Homestead Savings and Loan at 200 Gause Blvd. Friday afternoon. The incident occurred at 3:52 p.m., when a man walked into the bank and handed a threatening note to one of the tellers. Police say the teller handed over "an undisclosed amount of cash," after which the man ran out of the bank in the direction of Auto Zone, one or two doors down from the bank. The bank manager ran out after him, but the suspect got into a white Dodge pickup truck, believed to have Alabama plates, and sped away. The man is described as 6 feet 1 or 2 inches tall, with a heavy build, brown hair and a scruffy brown beard, wearing a tan zip-up jacket and blue jeans. He was last seen driving west on Gause towards Front Street. Anyone who sees a person matching this description is asked to call the Slidell Police Department at 643-3131. |
