Fire temporarily closes down Linens N Things last Friday

Linens N Things closed its doors earlier than usual last Friday after a small fire ignited in the trash compactor in the rear of store, sending smoke into the retail section of the building.

Although officials from the store, located off of Louisiana Highway 21 in Covington, refused to comment on any details, they did report that no merchandise or personnel were injured in the incident. With a pungent, burnt odor wafting throughout the interior of the center, the house-wares store reopened its doors Saturday and resumed normal business.
