A sparkling new self-storage facility in Pearl River, with a host of amenities, is now open to the public.

Planet Storage, located at 64287 Louisiana Highway 41, celebrated its grand opening March 6 during a Business After Hours networking event with the East St. Tammany Chamber of Commerce. Guests meandered through the spacious building, stopping in a number of storage units to sample the tasty treats provided by Nick & Nate’s Catering.

With 568 storage units encompassing 70,000 square feet of space, the facility has a lot to offer.

“We have two acres of boat and RV parking space, and a number of contractor units at 700 square feet apiece,” said Jeff Breland of MidSouth Development, who oversaw the project. “We also offer retail moving supplies, and executive office space is available for rent as well through our business center.”

Breland said Pearl River’s unprecedented growth and quick access to three interstates made it a natural choice for the location of the facility. His company is capitalizing on that growth, with 100 new homes recently opened in the Sawmill Creek subdivision and two other developments scheduled to start construction on 150 more homes in the near future.

Pearl River Mayor James Lavigne and Slidell Mayor Ben Morris were there to show their support for the operation.

“This is really a first-class development,” said Lavigne. “We’re really glad to have you here in Pearl River.”
