Power lines get tangled under truck By Debbie GloverSt. Tammany News Downed power lines on Louisiana Highway 437, North Lee Road, became tangled under a GMC Canyon pickup truck owned by Viviane West Thursday morning. West said she didn’t realize the pickup had caught the power line until the truck wasn’t driving right. “It felt like something was holding me back,” West said. Fire District 12 Chief Al Haley was on the scene and a portion of North Lee Road was blocked from Louisiana Highway 1081 southward to U. S. Highway 190 until CLECO could untangle the wires under the truck. CLECO lineman Kevin Bono, in his protective gear, cut the wires crossing the road and untangled the truck. At one point, Haley entered the truck and slowly pulled it forward while Bono grabbed the wires. As a precaution, Bono continued on North Lee Road about a hundred feet and cut other wires that were down and crossing the road. He removed them from the roadway in order to allow traffic to pass unhindered by the wires. |
