This comes after Causeway Police cited Mayor Eddie Price in late April for destroying one of the southbound tollgates on the bridge while driving a city-issued Ford Expedition.
Coogan emphasized the firm is not “investigating” Price’s recent activities. Instead it’s a study being performed on what regulations the city currently has on city-issued vehicle operation.

Coogan also added an investigation of Price’s actions will follow if the law firm says it’s warranted, but one major issue with the rules is they lack penalties, Coogan said.
Price said he plans to cooperate with the firm completely.
The council selected the firm several months ago to use with cases concerning administrative issues. Although Mandeville already has City Attorney David Cressy, Councilman Jerry Coogan said some cases arising in the future that deal directly with the city would be a conflict of interest for Cressy.

The office holders of this state need to accept the role of employees of the people and when they break a rule they should be fired, and I mean fired without a pension just like the rest of us.
Time for elected officials to come back down to earth and deal with the real world. "
