Slidell police announced Friday that Dino Schwertz, 41, of Slidell has been charged with four more sex crimes involving children.

These new charges means he now faces 13 charges that include nine counts of aggravated rape and four counts of indecent behavior with a juvenile.

Schwertz, a former janitor at the Abney Elementary School in Slidell, was arrested on March 11, after two 10-year-old boys said he had raped them in the school’s bathroom.

Two days later, two more male juveniles came forward and accused Schwertz of molesting them. The victims were 8 and 12. Schwertz was charged with one more count of aggravated rape and two counts of indecent behavior with a juvenile.

Drennan said since then, the 12-year-old victim told police Schwertz had done more than molest him, and another charge of aggravated rape was tacked on. Also, two new victims came forward, another 8-year-old boy, and an 11-year-old girl. They said Schwertz molested them, and two more counts of indecent behavior with a juvenile were added.

Schwertz, who is in the St. Tammany Parish Jail, was brought back to Slidell to be booked on the four extra charges.

rennan said that with more investigation, more charges may be forthcoming.
