Suspected dealers charged in Covington By Debbie GloverSt. Tammany News The Covington Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit completed drug investigations and arrested and charged six more suspects in addition to the six charged in the first wave of the roundup last Friday. Latest suspects charged are: • Damien D. Brown, 24, 503 W. 30th Ave., Covington, three counts of distribution of crack cocaine, and three counts of distribution in a drug-free zone. • Lottie Regina Sharp, 40, 815 W. 31st Ave., Covington, principal to distribution of crack cocaine, and principal to distribution in a drug-free zone. • Ashford Carde Hollins, 25, 701 Chestnut St. Hammond, distribution of crack cocaine, and distribution in a drug-free zone. Seized during his arrest was his 1988 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, equipped with a 42-inch plasma TV. • Mitchell W. Talley Jr., 20, 925 W. 31st Ave., Covington, distribution of crack cocaine, and distribution in a drug-free zone. • Joshua Lionel Bedford, 20, 21255 Azalea, Abita Springs, distribution of crack cocaine, and distribution in a drug-free zone. • Stephen Michael Otillio, 21, 23161 Delery St., Mandeville, simple possession of marijuana. The arrests made last week brings the number of suspected drug dealers arrested and charged in the latest roundup to 12. The roundup was conducted by the Covington Police Department Street Crimes Unit, Patrol Division and Louisiana Probation and Parole agents. In addition, three other arrests were made for a variety of other charges, included failure to appear and obstruction of justice. |
