Former teacher sentenced By Matthew PenixSt. Tammany News A Slidell area teacher who worked at a school to rehabilitate problem children was sentenced to seven years in jail Monday for possessing 275 counts of child pornography. Anthony Vincent “Vince” Ularich III, 60, who worked at Slidell Pathways School before resigning Oct. 5, was sentenced Monday by state District Court Judge Martin Coady. Coady sentenced Ularich to seven years for each count. The sentences will run concurrently without the benefit of parole or probation, Coady said. Ularich was arrested in October when a computer repairman discovered the images of 8- to 10-year-olds and called authorities. St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies seized the computer and performed a forensic search, which led to the arrest. Ularich pleaded guilty to the child pornography counts May 7. Slidell Pathways, part of the St. Tammany Parish public school system, says its goal is to “identify inappropriate behavior which have caused problems for the student, then teach them skills that will be productive in confrontational situations,” according to its Web site. |
