It happened Tuesday at 1:26 p.m., at the intersection of Fremaux Avenue and 11th Street in Slidell when Nores, 32, driving a 2001 Mercury Marquis owned by Parish Cab, pulled out from 11th Street to make a left turn onto Fremaux. The cab crossed the path of a westbound 2002 Red Honda Accord, driven by 25-year-old Candice Williams of Slidell.
Unable to avoid the collision, Williams hit the cab on the left rear quarter panel. The cab then rotated counterclockwise before striking a utility pole on the south side of Fremaux, bursting into flames after it came to a stop.

The two drivers were both wearing seat belts at the time of the crash, and it is not believed that drugs or alcohol were involved. There were no passengers in either vehicle.
Nores, who had been working for the cab company for less than a month, was cited for disregarding a stop sign.
