Christmas is coming early at the Samaritan Center’s Gran’s Attic Thrift Shop in Mandeville.

The non-profit organization at 402 Girod St. is kicking off its Christmas in July Sale with a special extension in store hours.

Regular hours are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., but on Monday, July 14 only, and for the first time, the thrift shop will open back up from 5-7 p.m. to commence the Christmas in July sale week.

Samaritan Center Director Dena Dyer said the one-day only opportunity will give shoppers additional hours to peruse the discounted items of the store and will hopefully help raise money to continue serving the emergency needs of the community.

Patricia Prejean with the thrift shop said the center has countless brand new items donated to the center ready to go on store shelves.

“It’s not going to be too much clothing, it’s going to be mostly good gift items like board games, purses and wallets,” just to name a few, Prejean said.

All of the items will be reasonably priced, Prejean continued.

She also said because of the limited quantity, it’s a first come, first serve basis, and she hopes the items will last all week.

The thrift shop will also continue to feature its usual apparel during the special sales week, Prejean said.

Recently, the shop is featuring a July 4 sale with a display of patriotic items set up at the front of the store.
