Later Montgomery was appointed to the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force in the U.S. Attorney’s office in New Orleans, where he gained prominence for fighting major drug crimes. Case after case, Montgomery brought drug dealers, pushers and cartel members to justice.

His actions warranted the attention of the Drug Enforcement Administration and U.S. Customs officials, who honored Montgomery with awards of achievement.

In all of his years as a federal prosecutor, Montgomery amassed an amazing 99 percent conviction rate and a reputation as a no-nonsense prosecutor. As a businessman, Warren also helped with the worldwide launch of a fun, frozen concoction called ICEE.

His experience managing international business matters as the chief executive officer of a retail distribution company will add to his expertise when ruling on complex civil matters.

Montgomery is a member of the Northshore Rotary Club as a Paul Harris Fellow, a graduate of Leadership Northshore 2008, a board member of Upward Community Services, a member of Keep Mandeville Beautiful, a member of Almas and a member of the Sugar Bowl Committee. He is the former Chairman of the Board of Young Life Northshore and is a lector at St. Peter Catholic Church in Covington and former Sunday school teacher and lector at St. John the Baptist in Folsom. He has his own private practice of law and is married to the former Valarie Hatfield. Together they have with four children: Daniel, Allison, Jennifer and Kirstie.

Montgomery, 53, is a Republican.
