Yazbeck runing for Division H judgeship Stephen A. Yazbeck has announced his candidacy for judge of Division H on the 22nd Judicial District Court. The seat is currently held by Judge Donald Fendlason, who is retiring. Yazbeck, 48, has lived in St. Tammany Parish for 25 years. He is the senior partner of Yazbeck, Evans and Yazbeck. He attended UNO, finishing a semester early with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting. Before going on to law school, he developed a broad range of experience. He passed the CPA exam then worked in real estate as a broker with his own company. He worked alongside his father, Joseph Yazbeck, helping to build Acorn Pharmaceuticals into a nationwide publicly traded corporation. He earned his Juris Doctorate degree from Loyola University, earning the American Juris Prudence Award for his academic achievement as a law school student. Yazbeck was also a precinct captain for Ronald Reagan’s presidential election campaign. He is the past president of the Kings Forest Homeowners Association and the founder of the St. Tammany Branch of the American Amateur Union Youth Basketball Organization. He served on the St. Paul’s High School Athletic Board and the Board of Families Helping Families. He is also a long time member of the Christian Business Mens Committee. He said he is a cancer survivor and a committed Christian. Yazbeck is married to the former Nageeha Zaghloul of Covington and is the father of three children. |
