GOP candidate forum planned Saturday A candidate forum for all GOP candidates on the ballot this October will be hosted from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Parish Council Chambers on Koop Drive. On the Oct. 4 ballot will be candidates for the Public Service Commission, Louisiana Supreme Court and judges in the 22nd Judicial District covering Washington and St. Tammany parishes, Justices of the Peace and Constables. Party primary elections for U.S. Senate and House of Representatives will be held Sept. 6, with a party runoff, if necessary, on Oct. 4. The Republican Parish Executive Committee will host the forum. All Republican candidates in each of these races will be invited to attend the event. After candidates make presentations to the RPEC and answer questions from the 19-member panel, the RPEC may consider making endorsements in the races. |
