Commission compiling events list for cultural season guide

The St. Tammany Commission on Cultural Affairs is asking cultural event producers and artist organizations to submit their upcoming events and business listings for inclusion in this fall’s Cultural Season Guide.

The new guide will cover events from Oct. 1, 2008, through March 31, 2009, and be distributed to more than 40,000 households, businesses, hotels and individuals in St. Tammany Parish. Distribution will begin the first week in October and include listings of theatre seasons, gallery openings, directory information, fair and festival dates and more.

In its fourth year, the St. Tammany Parish Cultural Season Guide is a 12-page, full-color, glossy publication.

Non-profit arts organizations may participate at no charge with proof of non-profit status. For-profit arts businesses will be charged $20 for inclusion in the guide that includes a business’s special events and business listing.

Those interested in participating must fill in a submission form. Submissions for the by Aug. 11, 2008. Contact Kathy Von Bieberstein at 898-5243 for more information. Submissions may be faxed in to 898-2798.
