PAC swimmers compete at district championship

The Pelican Athletic Club Year Round swimmers competed at the Louisiana District Championship Meet in Baton Rouge July 12-13.

Seven swimmers grabbed spots on PAC’s state team by achieving a state qualifying time or placing first in their events.

Kayla Brown won the 11-12 girl’s 50 meter Butterfly, and qualified in the 50 meter Freestyle. Muriel Perez qualified in the 11-12 50 meter Freestyle, and also took first place in the event. Ashton Choppin qualified in the 10 and Under girl’s 50 meter Breaststroke. Ashley Slicho won the 11-12 girl’s 100 meter Breaststroke. Amelia Taylor won the 11/12

200 meter IM. Logan Baranowski won the 10 and Under boy’s 100 meter Backstroke and Madalynn Buisson won the 13/14 girl’s 200 meter Breaststroke.

Brierre Breaux, Hope Winchell, Morgan Holloway, Holly Johnson and Ally Spell established one hundred percent best times.
