Apparently, 13 is a lucky number if you go to Oak Harbor Golf Club.

So far this month, three different players have recorded a hole-in-one, all on the 13th hole.

The distance varies based on pin placement and which tee the golfers were hitting from.

Cloy

Rayford Cloy, 66, who has been playing golf for the last 25 years, is the latest golfer to record an ace, the fourth of his career. He did it on July 14 from 153 yards out using a 6-iron. The hole in one was witnessed by Lynn Barthelemy and Paul Arnold.

Cloy, who estimated it had been 12 years since his last ace, said his first two came at Eastover in New Orleans and his last two were at Oak Harbor.

Cloy said the shot felt good when he let it loose.

“I knew I hit it on the screws,” Cloy said. “When I hit it, I knew it was right at it. I didn’t know where it was going, but I knew it would be close.”

On July 10, Dave Beckner got himself a hole-in-one from the white tee from 165 yards out, using an 8-iron. Tom Deaner and Dave Ramsey witnessed his shot.

The first ace of the month came on Independence Day when Shawn Snowden tallied his first hole-in-one from 193 yards on the blue tees, using a 4-iron.

Oak Harbor General Manager Jamey Clark along with Vincent Castro and Justin Lotz witnessed the feat.
