The Slidell High Football Quarterback Club Golf Tournament will take place today at Pinewood Country Club in a 4-man scramble format. Signups begin this afternoon at 1:30.
The cost is $85 per person, which includes the green fee, golf cart and dinner.

There will be a closest-to-the-hole contest. The winner will have a chance to go for $1 million by getting an ace on the same hole.

The Slidell Youth Football Association is holding its final registration this weekend.

Registration today for soccer, T-Ball
The West St. Tammany YMCA is holding registration for youth T-Ball and soccer.
The T-Ball program will start on Sept. 10 and goes through Oct. 22 for boys and girls ages 3-5 at the Covington Youth Soccer Fields from 5:30-6:30 p.m.
Soccer begins on Sept. 13 and runs until Oct. 25 for boys and girls 3-5 years old at the Covington Youth Soccer Fields from 9-10 a.m.

Pelican Park
registration ongoing
Pelican Park registration for adult sports is ongoing through Aug. 8 in the Castine Center.
The office will be open for registration Monday-Friday 8 a.m. until 6 p.m.
Signups will be for Men’s Recreational Softball, which plays on Sunday afternoons at a cost of $215 per team.
Men’s Competitive Softball competes on Thursday evenings for a fee of $400 a team, while Men’s Modified Overhand Softball, which takes place on Sundays, is also $400 per squad. Competitive Co-ed Cabbageball had its games on Friday evenings at $280 a team.
Co-ed Competitive Kickball will play games on Friday evenings for $280 per team, while Just For Fun Co-ed Volleyball will be on Thursday evenings at a cost of $80 per squad.
There will be two basketball leagues both costing $455 a team. The competitive one will have contests on Sundays, while the Over 35 Men’s Basketball is on Wednesdays.

Mandeville Soccer Club registration is ongoing
The Mandeville Soccer Club is holding fall registration through Saturday.

Pelican Park Registration is coming up
Pelican Park is holding its fall sports registration through Aug. 12 for baseball, softball, football, volleyball and cheerleading.
Practices begin Aug. 25. Baseball, softball and volleyball games begin Sept. 6. Football and cheerleading begins Sept. 13.
The ages are different for the various sports. Football and cheerleading ages 7-12 are eligible, while baseball is 7-17, softball ages are 7-16 and volleyball players must be 9-16.

The Lee Road Youth Athletic Association will be holding registration for football and cheerleading tomorrow and Aug. 9 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Lee Road Junior High School.
Flight of the Crowe golf tournament is next month
The Seventh Annual Flight of the Crowe Golf Classic 2008 will take place Sept. 19 at Oak Harbor.
Registration will take place 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. the day of the 4-man scramble event.
The entry fee is $150 per person or $550 for a four-person team. The cost includes green fees, cart, goody bag, mulligan, a putting and chipping contest, drinks, barbeque lunch along with a shirt. Non-players can pay $30 for the barbeque lunch only.
Golfers will have the opportunity to win three vehicles and a boat.

Fall Basketball at Northshore Basketball Training Center
The Northshore Basketball Training Center Fall Sessions are now posted. The sessions start August and run through December for boys and girls ages 5-14.

Northshore Tennis Association offers youth program
The Northshore Tennis Association has an ongoing Junior and Mr. Pee Wee development tennis program for boys and girls ages 4-18. It starts with private or semi-private sessions to familiarize youngsters with tennis terms, stroke production and procedures. The year-round programs are held on the Kehoe-France Northshore School and public courts in Covington and Mandeville.
Competitions are held for boys and girls 10 and under that have not been ranked on a state level and are new to tournament competition.
Yearly registration is $25 and $5 and an unopened can of tennis balls is required per tournament or $8 total per tournament.
