Slidell police to return lost, stolen bikes

Published on Wednesday, July 30, 2008 9:52 AM CDT

The Slidell Police Department will open its Bicycle Yard for public viewing 10 a.m. to 2 p.m Saturday in an attempt to return lost or stolen bicycles to their owners. The bikes have been recovered from all over the city; some may have been lost or stolen from as long as a year or more.

The only requirement for ownership is to be able to identify your bike. If anyone has a serial number of their lost or stolen bike they are asked to bring it to help identify the bike quicker. Anyone claiming a bike will be required to show identification and sign a form before the bike is released.

The bikes can be viewed at the Slidell Police Department located at 2112 Third St. If someone cannot make the Saturday date they can call 646-6150 to make an appointment to view the bikes.
