Some teams got more holes in, but since everyone had finished the front nine, those scores counted. The event featured 10 teams in a scramble format. The top three teams won plaques. The foursome of John Chapman, Travis Markey, Garrett Tranchina and Gary Tranchina won the tournament by one stroke, shooting nine under par. Tranchina, who graduated in 1977, said things went well despite the weather.
“For having some wet and rough conditions, we had some good golfers playing some good golf,” Tranchina said.

“It went about as best as it could. We didn’t have a good turnout, but I think that was because of the weather. Those who played had a good time,” Markey said. “Outback gave us a good steak dinner. Our sponsors helped out a lot with the tournament. We couldn’t have done it without them.”
Troy Twillie was the winner of the longest drive contest, sending a shot 308 yards. He received a trophy for his effort.
Craig Mullet, whose son Stephen is the Tigers’ punter, won $250 in the closest to the pin contest. He came within 10 feet of the 17th hole, which played 115 yards. Lakeshore Chrysler donated the money.
