Annual Gourmet Gala set for September

September'€™s 12th annual Gourmet Gala fundraiser will transport guests to Italy with this year'€™s theme, '€œUnder the Tuscan Moon.'€

The event is set for Sept. 14 from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Northshore Harbor Center in Slidell, and presenting sponsors are Pontchartrain Materials Corp., Ozone Aggregates and the Eugenie & Joseph Jones Family Foundation.

Proceeds will go to the K-Bar-B Youth Ranch, a nonprofit residential treatment facility for foster children, and Rainbow Child Care Center, an early childhood development program for low-income working families in St. Tammany Parish.

The soiree will feature food samplings from local restaurants, live music by Witness and specialty wines, beers and cocktails. Precision Pyrotechnics will stage a fireworks display, and a silent auction as well as a pick-a-prize raffle, sometimes known as a Chinese auction, will also be held. Individual admission is $75 per person, and tickets may be purchased at Habanos of Slidell & the Wine Seller, Java Jungle, Petals and Stems, and Northshore Harbor Center.
