Trevon J. Miller, 25, 384 Thomas Road, Slidell, was in the Orleans Parish Jail when he was arrested, police spokesman, Capt. Kevin Foltz said. Slidell police did not know how long Miller had been in the Orleans Parish Jail, or what the charges were, but the Orleans Sheriff’s Office informed Slidell police of Miller’s presence, and he was turned over to Slidell authorities Monday afternoon.
Miller faces charges of attempted murder, injuring public records, and two outstanding attachments for failure to appear in the Slidell City Court.

According to police reports, Miller and the victim got into an argument over the victim’s daughter, Shateasha Stokes, 24, 2452 Fourth St.
Several hours after the argument, the victim was parked on Eighth Street when he saw Miller and his girlfriend drive by in a rented car. Miller stopped at a stop sign, Stokes got out of the car, yelling, “Daddy.”
The victim got out of his car and started to walk to his daughter when Miller got out of his car and allegedly shot the victim in the leg. Miller and Stokes then fled the scene and the victim managed to drive himself to the hospital where he was treated and released.
Police issued a warrant for attempted murder on Miller, and another warrant for being a principal to second-degree attempted murder on Stokes. Slidell police were able to arrest Stokes on July 28, when she and a friend were detained for shoplifting at the Wal-Mart on Natchez Drive. Stokes also has two outstanding attachments for failure to appear in the Slidell City Court, and is also charged with failure to return a leased vehicle.
Foltz said the victim believes he was set up by Miller and his daughter.
“He said his daughter intentionally got him out of his car,” Foltz said.
When Miller was brought back to Slidell Monday, he insisted his name was not Trevon Miller and signed all the booking papers with another name. This led to the charge of injuring public records.
Miller denies having anything to do with the shooting.
Miller was transported to the St. Tammany Parish Jail where he is awaiting a bond hearing.
