Skippers jamboree on tap tonight
The Mandeville Skippers jamboree is tonight beginning at 6:30 with the Fontainebleau Bulldogs taking on the Holy Cross Tigers. Following that game the host Skippers lock horns with the John Curtis Patriots, the defending Class 2A state champs, scheduled to begin at 8 o’clock. Curtis finished the year at 12-2 last season.

Covington High Jamboree features six teams
The Covington High Jamboree takes place today at Jack Salter Stadium featuring six teams, including the host Fighting Lions, the St. Paul’s Wolves, the Bogalusa Lumberjacks (Class 3A), the Franklinton Demons (Class 4A), the Pine Raiders (Class 2A) and the Varnado Wildcats (Class 1A).

The Wolverines, a Class 1A school, suit up to battle the Class 3A Ben Franklin Falcons at 6:30. Ben Franklin (7-4) made the school’s first football playoff appearance in school history last year.
