The marriage of Rachel Elizabeth Owens and Michael Pierce Davis Jr. was solemnize June 7, 2008, at First Baptist Church of Slidell with Stuart Sumrall officiating followed by a reception.

The bride is the daughter of Bill and Theresa Owens. The bridegroom is the son of Joe and Velvet Lopinto and Mike and Cheryl Davis.

The bride, whose mother is the former Theresa Wilkinson of Pearlington, Miss., graduated from First Baptist Christian School and Southeastern Louisiana University, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. She is employed by the Department of Environmental Quality.

Owens is the granddaughter of the late Marks and Dorothy Wilkinson and William and Marjorie Owens Sr.

Rebecca Owens served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Caralyn Davis, Heather Lambert, Roxanne Sundberg and Kortney Wilkinson. Natalie Lovell was flower girl.

The groom, whose mother is the former Velvet Smith of Amite, graduated from Oak Forest Academy and attends SLU where he will receive a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. He is employed by North Oaks Medical Center.

Davis is the grandson of Hobart and Mae Jean Smith, Carolyn Major and the late Paul Davis, Matilda and the late Joseph Lopinto Sr.

Mitchell Travis served as best man. Groomsmen were Clint Lovell, Roman Lee, Brett Owens and Ben Cutrer.

Following a wedding cruise to Mexico, the couple will reside in Tickfaw.
