Andrew Jackson Creel, 85, passed away Sunday, Aug. 31, 2008.

A native of Jayess, Miss., he was a resident of Slidell and was a retired rod mill operator with Kaiser.

Creel is survived by his wife, Doris Knight Creel; stepchildren, Charles Rester, Debbie Rester and Brenda Miller; a sister, Bertha Rush; four grandchildren, Michael Wayne Creel, Mark Andrew Creel, Susan Hall and Elizabeth Brandon; five great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son, Malcolm Andrew Creel.

Funeral services will be held today at 1 p.m. in the chapel of D.T. Williams Funeral Home, 67525 Louisiana Highway 41, Pearl River. Visitation is from 9 a.m. until service time.

Interment will follow at Charter Oak Cemetery, Pearl River.
