Mildred Ahrens Airhart. 83, of Slidell, died Friday, Aug. 29, 2008,

at Northshore Regional Medical Center in Slidell.

She was the beloved wife of the late Jake P. Airhart Sr.; mother of Robert J. Airhart, Maryann Airhart Thornhill and the late Jake P. Airhart Jr; mother-in-law of Rodney Thornhill, Margaret Airhart and Marcie Airhart; daughter of the late William O. and Clemence G. Ahrens; and sister of the late William O. Ahrens Jr., and Henrietta A. Todd.

She is also survived by four grandchildren, Jacob B. Thornhill, Justin P. Airhart, Brett P. Airhart and Amanda Heinerichs; and four great-grandchildren, Jacques P. Airhart, Aden J. Airhart, Trey Heinerichs and Brady Heinerichs.

She was a native of New Orleans and a resident of Slidell since 1966.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral at Honaker Funeral home, 1751 Gause Blvd. West (in Forest Lawn Cemetery), Slidell, at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetary.

Visitaiton will be Monday from 6-9 p.m. and Tuesday from 9 a.m. until funeral time.

Donations to the American Cancer Society or Florida Avenue Elementary School Library in Slidell or masses preferred, in lieu of flowers.

Arrangements by Honaker Funeral Home, Inc., Slidell.

    " Millie will be missed so much. I will always remember her stories and jokes...Thursday mornings at the bowling alley will never be the same.
    I am very fortunate to have known such a sweet woman. "
