Covington resident Nicholas Boullosa was selected as the 2008-2009 recipient of the Tulane Legislative Scholarship awarded by a selection committee established by State Rep. John Schroder, District 77.

Every state representative is given a Tulane scholarship to award in their district each year of his or her term.

After reviewing the qualifications of the applicants, the committee conducted personal interviews with each of the candidates, and Boullosa was chosen for a one-year scholarship.

Information for the 2009-2010 academic year has been sent to all high schools in the district. Interested students should contact their principals or counselors for details.

Applications must be received by Schroder’s office by Jan. 31, 2009.
