Jessica Marie Young of Franklinton and Dustin August McLain of Covington were united in marriage Saturday, June 14, 2008, at First Baptist Church in Franklinton.

The six o’clock wedding was officiated by Rev. Luther Stanford.

The exquisite picturesque floral design of white gladiolus, agapanthus, roses, delphinium, larkspur, aster, white casa Blanca lilies, snapdragons, belles of Ireland, stock, hydrangea and Italian rescues arge were displayed at the alter in freeform arrangement on white columns in Grecian urns.

The flowers provided by Benny’s Garden’s with ceremony music by Mrs. Lynn Fussell, pianist, Brian Fussell, organist, and soloists Allison Fussell and Chip McVea.

A reception followed at Vintage Court in Covington with music by Dennis Sharp and his band.

Vintage Court catered the event.

The bride and groom’s cakes were created by The Coco Bean in Hammond.

The bride is the daughter of Beverly Young and David Young of Franklinton.

She is the granddaughter of Mary Ethel Young and the late Leroy Young and Lora Sutterfield of Franklinton, Arlene Jones and the late Rev. B. Alfred Jones of Columbia, Miss.

The groom is the son of Randy and Kathy McLain of Covington and the grandson of Wilson and Peggy Jenkins and the late August and Betty McLain of Covington.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore an off-the shoulder, vintage, light gold, taffeta gown by Maggie Sottero.

The gown had a full caught-up skirt with corset closure.

The plunging ruche neckline and asymmetrically gathered bodice was highlighted with beaded lace motifs. The caught-up skirt was accented with sparkling lace motifs and featured a stylish bubble hem train. She carried a European Handheld Bouquet of white roses and heather.

Matron of honor was Heather Young Crawford, of Pensacola, Fla., sister of the bride.

Bridesmaids were Stacy Bateman Buster, Kasey Hill, Rhonda Guthrie Little and Kassi McLain, sister of the groom, Casey Hightower Upton, Shonti Privette Vial and Kourtney Caminita Leto.

Best man was Randy McLain of Covington, father of the groom and honorarium best man was Wilson Jenkins of Covington, grandfather of the groom.

Groomsmen were Matt Leto, Grayson Sullivan, Duane Graham, Slayden King, Brad Fussell, Ryan Core and Mark Barrentine, cousin of the groom.

Ushers were Jonathan Young, Matt Young and Jason Crawford, brothers-in-law of the groom, and Ryan Spencer.

Young is a 2002 graduate of Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond with a Bachelor of Art degree in communication.

She was Miss Southeastern in 2001 and on the SLU Alumni Board in 2006 and 2007.

She is currently a senior sales representative for Eli Lilly and Co.

McLain graduated from SLU in 2004 with a degree in marketing.

He is currently a senior sales executive for Pitney Bowes.

The couple honeymooned in St. John of the U.S. Virgin Islands, and they currently reside in Folsom.
