Northlake Christian opens district play tomorrow
Northlake Christian School’s Wolverines open District 7-1A play tomorrow night against the Christian Life Academy Crusaders on the road in Baton Rouge at Memorial Stadium with kickoff set for 7 o’clock. The Wolverines (1-3) face off against the Crusaders (3-1). Christian Life is ranked No. 10 in the Louisiana Sports Writers Association poll for Class 1A.

FHS Lady Bulldogs capture St. Thomas More Tournament
Fontainebleau’s Lady Bulldogs continued their winning ways Saturday, sweeping through four matches in the St. Thomas More Tournament. FHS senior outside hitter Lindsey Barron powered the Lady Bulldogs to victory, blasting 47 kills in the tournament, while sophomore libero Caitlyn Auxilien delivered 37 digs.

Unbeaten Mandeville on road to Ponchatoula
Mandeville (4-0) holds the early lead in District 7-5A play with a 2-0 record as the Skippers travel to the Swamp to take on the Ponchatoula Green Wave tonight. Mandeville downed the Slidell Tigers 24-21 at home last week, while Ponchatoula (3-1, 1-1) suffered a disappointing 42-20 defeat at the hands of the Covington Fighting Lions on the road.

St. Paul's to host Slidell at Hunter Stadium
St. Paul’s Wolves are at home tonight hosting the Slidell Tigers. The Wolves (4-1, 1-1) manhandled the Hammond Tornadoes 42-7 last week. Slidell (2-2, 1-1) fell to the Mandeville Skippers 24-21 on the road. Both clubs hope to claw out a victory to keep pace in the District 7-5A race.

Skippers sweep Mandeville Invitational
The Mandeville Invitational was held last Friday at Pelican Park. Mandeville freshman Elizabeth Manuel captured first place in the girl’s three-mile race in a field of 62 runners with a time of 17:57 to help lead the Lady Skippers to the team title with 41 points. MHS took four of the top 10 places. Christine Derbins was fourth (20:03) followed by Ashley Irwin (20:26). Ashley Gussoni (21:58) came in 10th for the Lady Skippers.

St. Paul’s senior football player Jordan Bodenheimer is the Wolves’ starting mike linebacker. Bodenheimer is currently third on the club with 42.5 tackles, including 32 solo stops. He has two stops for losses and has caused a fumble. In last week’s 45-24 district victory over Slidell, he was in on eight tackles, including one tackle for a loss.
