Archbishop Hannan’s Hawks (1-5) host the Cohen Green Hornets tomorrow night in Hammond at Tornado Alley with kickoff set for 7 o’clock. Cohen is 3-3 on the year, coming off a 28-8 loss to West St. Mary’s High School.

FHS hosts SHS, both teams tied in district
Fontainebleau’s Bulldogs return to the friendly confines of the Dawg Pound tonight hosting the Slidell Tigers in District 6-5A play. FHS (4-2, 2-2) worked its way back into the district race last week with a sterling overall team performance taking a hard-fought 19-16 over time victory over previously unbeaten Mandeville ruining the Skippers’ homecoming.

St. Paul’s Wolves are home tonight taking on the Ponchatoula Green Wave at Hunter Stadium. St. Paul’s (5-2, 2-2) is coming off a 34-19 loss to Northshore. Last week, the Wolves were unable to recover after falling behind 20-0 in the first quarter on the road.

Fontainebleau’s Lady Bulldogs proved to be the class of District 5-I Tuesday, sweeping the second place Mandeville Lady Skippers, 25-23, 25-13, 25-22 at the Kennel. FHS (28-5) moved its unbeaten streak to 11-0 in district play as the Lady Bulldogs, heading into yesterday’s road action against Slidell.

Slidell High senior quarterback Blake Forbis put on an aerial display Friday night striking on four touchdown passes and one rushing score, sparking the Tigers to a lopsided 44-7 victory over the Fontainebleau Bulldogs at the Dawg Pound.

Northlake Christian School’s Wolverines traveled to Kentwood Friday night where they fought gamely, but still found themselves winless in district play as they suffered a 35-6 thumping at the hands of the Kangaroos. The loss dropped the Wolverine record to 0-3 in district play and 1-6 overall, while Kentwood remained undefeated in district play at 4-0. The Northlake defense, which has been vulnerable against the run throughout the season, played well at times but gave up several big plays that resulted in a lopsided score in what was a game that appeared to be much closer.

Mandeville Junior edges Bogalusa
The Mandeville Junior High Patriots scored 19 first half points and then held off a talented Bogalusa team, escaping with a 19-18 win on the road extending their winning streak to four games. The Patriot offense was sharp, scoring on all three possessions in the first half with scoring drives of 68, 80 and 60 yards.

Salmen sophomore Daniel Sams accounted for two touchdowns in a 28-0 victory over the East Jefferson Warriors even though the Spartans was playing without starting quarterback Julien Troullier. The District 9-4A game was held at Salmen.

SSA wins Walker Shootout, LaBorde wins fourth race
St. Scholastica Academy junior Angela LaBorde captured the three-mile race in the Walker Shootout XC Meet with a time of 17:41.58 on Saturday to help lead her Doves to the team title with 63 points, which originally tied with Lafayette. The Doves were awarded the girl’s title as their sixth overall team finisher Ali Edwards (26th) came in ahead of the next highest Lafayette finisher Brooke Perry (33rd).
