First three Hoopla winners selected Three St. Tammany News readers won the first round of “Holiday Hoopla” this week. Sue Bourcq of Mandeville won $125, Vic Vargo of Covington won $75 and Cindy Douglas of Slidell won $50. “Holiday Hoopla” began last week. It is a program sponsored by nine St. Tammany Parish businesses and is designed to encourage people to shop locally as they get a head start on holiday shopping. Shoppers — although no purchase is necessary to participate — can go to one of several merchants and register for weekly prizes. At the end of the four weeks, all registrations will be placed in a hopper, and one winner will be drawn for a grand prize award of $500. Winners of each prize will select which participating merchant they want their prize from, and they will be given a gift card, good only at that merchant. While there is no limit of entries a person can submit, they must be on original forms — no copies will be accepted. An entry blank may be found inside today’s paper or at participating merchants. Participating merchants include Scardina Refrigeration, Advantage Financial, Lawn & Saw, Wabi Sabi, Poole Lumber Co., Garrett Honda, Unfinished Furniture, Cycle Shop and Slidell Easy Pay. |
