Fontainebleau senior volleyball player Amanda Schneck has helped lead the Lady Bulldogs to a 29-5 overall record. FHS led District 5-I with a perfect 12-0 mark heading into yesterday’s district match with Ponchatoula.

Schneck has delivered 127 digs, 125 kills, 43 aces and 21 blocks on the season.

FHS third-year coach Danny Tullis described Schneck as an emotional leader on his club.

“Amanda brings intensity and fire when she is on the court. She does a good job providing vocal leadership along with Jessica Guttierrez and Emily Sulzer. They are the three emotional leaders on the team,” Tullis said.

Tullis said Schneck’s consistent play has been key to the Lady Bulldogs’ success this season.

“Amanda is a very good athlete. She has taken a lot of big swings for us. She is a hard worker. She does extra things with her dad (Bill) after practice and at other times to improve her game,” Tullis added.

Tullis credited Schneck with doing a good job of helping bring on freshman Hailey Bonnebal and Sarah Ulm, who are both seeing more playing time.

“Amanda helps them both get in position, and helps them in setting up defensive positioning.”

Best thing about living on the Northshore? I think everybody on the Northshore is so nice and friendly. It’s fun playing on club teams getting to play with and against lots of my friends.

Hobbies/interests/volunteering: I enjoy playing pick up games around the neighborhood. I also like swimming. I’m in the National Honors Society and Key Club. We do volunteering around the community.
