St. Scholastica Academy senior libero (defensive specialist) Sam Delahoussaye is a four-year starter for the Doves. Delahoussaye helped SSA to a third place finish in District 5-I with a 10-4 district mark this season. She delivered a strong match with 23 digs Friday afternoon, helping to spark the Doves to a bi-district round playoff victory over their district foe Slidell Lady Tigers.

For the first time this season and the fifth time in the past three seasons, Millsaps College in Jackson, Miss., has swept the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Football Player of the Week accolades, with Juan Joseph (Offensive), Jacob Hanberry (Defensive) and Michael Galatas (Special Teams) taking the honors.

PJP unable to cause logjam at top of 9-2A
The Pope John Paul Jaguars hosted the St. Thomas Aquinas Falcons Friday night at Lester Latino field with an opportunity to create a possible three-way tie for the District 9-2A championship. Although the Jags played toe-to-toe with the Falcons in the second half, it was the first half mauling by St. Thomas that made the difference in the 35-7 contest.
