Hannan (2-6) is coming off a 25-20 victory over Lusher. Grace King (0-7) fell to John Ehret 48-0 last week. Grace King, a Class 5A school, which competes in District 8-5A, won last year’s game 46-17.
Hannan, which relocated into their new school facility in Covington earlier this week, hopes to close out the year on a winning note. Hannan second-year coach George Templet said his club wants to take advantage of last week’s victory to end the season on a positive note.

“The players have remained motivated, and want to finish strong.”
Hannan made a nice come back with only seven minutes to go last week to take the five-point victory over Lusher. Hannan scored the winning points when the Hawks were successful on a fake punt midway through the fourth quarter trailing 20-19. The Hawks scored the winning points when up-back Gino Gioe took a direct snap and hit senior Lee Laughlin who was open over the middle. Laughlin did the rest converting the fourth-and-11 play from the Hawks’ 33-yard line for the winning 67-yard touchdown. Hannan junior quarterback Andrew Arceneaux completed 4-of-8 passes for 65 yards with a 47-yard TD pass to Ben Condon. Condon also returned an interception 83 yards in the first quarter to give the Hawks a 7-7 tie following Michael Tiziani’s extra point.
Senior tailback Adam Lewis was the Hawks’ leading ball carrier with 47 yards on eight rushes with a 36-yard touchdown. Lewis tops the Hawks with eight touchdowns, six rushing and two coming on kickoff returns.
Grace King head coach Byron Nihart is in his first year with the Fighting Irish. Senior quarterback Max Parish (5-8, 150) operates the Fighting Irish’s split back veer offense led by junior running back Brandon Scott (6-2, 210) and sophomore Clinton Giusti (5-7, 155).
Grace King’s defense is led by senior linebacker Kadeem Lewis (6-2, 225) the leading tackler and junior linebacker Jamal Griffith (5-10, 175).
“We are probably a little more athletic in the skill positions than Hannan is,” Nihart said.
“We want to be able to match up with them. We aren’t very big on either side of the ball. We probably average 205 on the offensive line and about the same on defense,” Nihart added.
