Millsaps (8-0, 6-0 SCAC), which is currently ranked fourth, defeated Trinity College 56-27 last Saturday, snapping Trinity’s 37-game home conference winning streak dating back to 1995. The Majors will return to Jackson this weekend for a Homecoming showdown with Colorado College with kickoff set for 1 p.m.
Galatas (5-9, 170) sophomore wide receiver, a 2007 Fontainebleau High graduate who is from Lacombe, accounted for 280 all-purpose yards in Millsaps’ victory.

Galatas said he didn’t know about him receiving the award until he spoke to his mother.
“My mom called me and told me about it after she saw it on the school’s Web site. Since it was my first award here it means a lot to me.”
Galatas said it feels great being on an undefeated team.
“As long as everybody does their job, we’ll continue to do great things. Our coaches focus on everybody doing their job. Everything is working out for us,” Galatas added.
Galatas with 27 receptions on the season, three better than last year, is tied for third place on the team with senior Burt Periera, a 2005 St. Paul’s graduate. Galatas has 442 yards receiving, averaging 16.4 yards per reception with four touchdowns.
He credits his quarterback, Joseph, with doing a nice job spreading the ball around to the different receivers.
In all-purpose yardage, Galatas has gained 834 yards, including 442 receiving, 366 on kickoff returns and 26 on punt returns. He is averaging 26.1 yards per kickoff return this season.
He said as a kick returner, he focuses on holding onto the football, and setting up his blocks.
Galatas, who starred at Fontainebleau High as a wide receiver, also ran track for the Bulldogs as a hurdler/relay runner. He is majoring in business. He is the son of Michael and Euradel Galatas of Lacombe.
Joseph, earning his school-record ninth career selection, completed 30-of-43 passes for 370 yards with three TDs in the Trinity victory. He also rushed 12 times for 91 yards with two scores.
The senior hit eight different receivers and recorded his 10th career 300-yard game, while accounting for 461 of the Majors’ 570 total yards of offense. He’s the first Millsaps’ QB in the SCAC era to knock off the Trinity Tigers twice in his career. He has the Majors (8-0) off to their best start since 1980.
Hanberry had a season-high seven tackles, two pass breakups and an interception. Clinging to a two-touchdown lead in the fourth quarter, the senior made a game-changing, one-handed interception in the end zone that sealed the Millsaps’ win.
