Hannan closes with victory

Lopinto tallies twice, Arceneaux tosses two touchdowns

Archbishop Hannan won its second consecutive game Saturday, defeating the Class 5A Grace King Fighting Irish 28-7 at Joe Yenni Stadium.

Hannan finished the season with a 3-6 mark under second-year coach George Templet after starting the season 0-4.

Hannan senior Ethan Lopinto returned a kickoff 95 yards for a score and also tallied on a 45-yard interception return for the Hawks.

Junior quarterback Andrew Arceneaux connected on 7-of-14 passes for 95 yards with two touchdown passes, covering five yards to senior Cameron Becnel and 54-yards to senior Lee Laughlin. Senior tailback Adam Lewis rushed for 49 yards on eight carries.

Hawks’ senior place kicker Michael Tiziani delivered on all four of his point after touchdowns.

Hannan picked up 10 first downs, gaining 166 yards of total offense. The Hawks rushed for 71 yards. The Hannan defense allowed Grace King just seven first downs on 189 yards of offense, 104 yards passing and 85 yards rushing.
