Archbishop Hannan’s volleyball season ended Monday with a road loss in the bi-district round as the Lady Hawks came up short against Houma Christian (No. 5 seed), 20-25, 15-25, 13-25.

Hannan, the No. 12 seed, finished its first season under Jennifer Pujol with a 10-14 record.

“We didn’t get the passes to our setter, and by not doing that our offense struggled. We never managed to find any consistency during the match,” Pujol said.

“I’m proud of the team’s effort. They are a hard working group. It was a privilege to coach them, and I’m looking to next season,” the first-year coach added.

Senior Katie Bailey, the Lady Hawks only senior, finished with seven digs, five kills and one ace. Kimmy Kirsch netted eight assists with five digs, one kill and one ace. Emily Lee led the Lady Hawks with 12 digs.

She also added two kills and one block.

Natalie Powell pulled up eight digs, with two blocks, one kill and an ace.

The Lady Hawks earned a second place finish in district with an 8-2 mark. Their only two district losses were to Northlake Christian School’s Lady Wolverines, the undefeated district champs.
