Price likely to discuss city vehicle with Mandeville council By Chad RuizSt. Tammany News Mandeville Mayor Eddie Price announced several weeks ago he completed his 12-week counseling program and is now ready to drive his city-issued vehicle again. Although he doesn’t need the approval of the City Council, Price said out of respect, he will discuss the matter with them at tomorrow night’s council meeting before he makes his decision to drive the city-owned Ford Expedition again. Price relinquished his keys to the SUV earlier this year after he was cited and fined for driving while intoxicated on the Causeway. Another incident that occurred in 2006, revealed by two Mandeville police officers who said they pulled Price over for driving while apparently intoxicated, also affected his decision to give up his vehicle. Price enrolled in the treatment program immediately afterwards. Price will likely discuss the vehicle issue with the council members behind closed doors before or after the meeting tomorrow. Also on the agenda is a public hearing concerning structures at 626 Foy St. and 802 Florida St. that the city is looking to condemn and demolish. |
