FHS bombs Belle Chasse

Fontainebleau’s Lady Bulldogs cruised past Belle Chasse Wednesday 64-24 in a non-district contest played at Belle Chasse. FHS’ Dani Revon tallied 12 points, seven assists, seven steals and pulled down six rebounds. Anna Ribbeck contributed 10 Points, five rebounds, four assists and four steals, while Jennifer Beehler collected 10 points, four steals and three assists.

Sarah Ulm had eight points with four rebounds, while Nicole Gurievsky also tallied eight points with two boards.

   

Northshore

beats Central

Northshore’s Lady Panthers knocked off Central of Baton Rouge, 43-30, in a road game Wednesday. NHS is 1-1 this season.

Samantha Purdom led the Lady Panthers with 11 points.

Slidell falls

to Chapelle

Slidell dropped a home game to Archbishop Chapelle, 48-29, Tuesday.

SHS is 1-1 heading into tonight’s road game against Cabrini. Lillian McAbee, Melyssa Darby and Bianca Navarre all had six points to lead the Lady Tigers.

Hannan tops Lutheran

Archbishop Hannan (2-0) downed Lutheran 29-5 Wednesday on the road. Kimmy Kirsch topped the Lady Hawks with a game-high 21 points. Kayla Rebouche and Katelyn Donnelly finished with four points each. Hannan coach Scott Manguno said his girls are off to a good start.

CHS defeats

St. Amant

Covington’s Lady Lions ran past St. Amant 64-25 Tuesday in a game played at CHS. Emily Smith and Charlisha Bradford led the way with 12 points each. Myria Cyprian and Khadijah James finished with 11 apiece. Rachel Smith added seven points followed by Kelsie Gassen with six.

Our Lady

Fontainebleau downed Academy of Our Lady, 75-52, on the road Monday behind Jennifer Behler’s 17 points, five steals and four assists. FHS freshman Rebekah Crandle delivered a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Crandle also had seven assists and four steals.

Nicole Gurievsky chipped in with 15 points and eight rebounds, while Dani Revon finished with 12 points, nine rebounds and five steals. FHS also got strong play from sophomore Brittney Matherne, who tallied nine points, nine rebounds and four steals, while fellow sophomore Anna Ribbeck pulled down 10 rebounds with six assists, four steals and three points.

FHS coach Stephen Lopinto said his club started off slow, getting into foul trouble in the first half.  

“After getting into foul trouble, then we took control of the game in the third quarter with pressure half court man defense. We were able to push the ball up court,” Lopinto said.

SHS wins opener over Pearl River

Slidell’s Lillian McAbee scored 20 points to go with seven assists and seven steals, helping her team win its opener, 58-50, over Pearl River Monday at PRHS.

Bianca Navarre scored 12 points and grabbed eight rebounds, while Kameron Lacoste tallied 10 points.

Salmen downs Northshore

Salmen knocked off the Northshore Lady Panthers, 41-36, in the opener for both teams Monday at Salmen.

Salmen’s Chelsie James led all scorers with 17 points, while Rica Smith posted 10.

Dejean Fleming topped Northshore with 16 points, while Haley Haddad along with Amber Smith each had six.

Hannan tops

First Baptist

Archbishop Hannan edged the First Baptist Christian School Lady Eagles, 24-23, Monday in Slidell in the season opener.

Kayla Rebouche topped Hannan with 14 points, followed by Kimmy Kirsch with eight points. Both players hit critical free throws with the game clock winding down. Kelli Digangi scored two points and took a charge for the Lady Hawks.

Sara Jones led the Lady Eagles with 12 points, while Hannah Jones scored 11.
