Slidell'€™s France earns fifth in Class 5A meet

Slidell High School’s Zach France was the top local finisher at the Class 5A state cross country meet Tuesday in Natchitoches.

France earned a fifth-place finish in 15:47. St. Paul’s Matt Mouton (15:51) came in sixth to help lead the Wolves to a seventh-place team finish with 253 points.

Fontainebleau (262) took eighth, followed by Mandeville (285). Slidell (494) came in 16th.

Catholic of Baton Rouge won the team event with 47 points, followed by Jesuit (99) and Brother Martin (118).
