Wilson '€“ Smoorenburg The marriage of Chantal Marie Smoorenburg and Alonzo “Lonzo” P. Wilson II was solemnized Oct. 3, 2008, at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Mandeville with the Rev. Than Vu, pastor of Christ the King Parish and Catholic Center at LSU. Ceremony’s music was provided by organist Sharon Scharmer and vocalists Lindsey Piattoly and Cedric Bridges. The reception followed at Tchefuncta Country Club. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph “Joey” Smoorenburg of Covington. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Alonzo P. Wilson Sr. of Lake Charles. The bride, whose mother is the former Laura LaGrange of Patterson, graduated from Mandeville High School and Louisiana State University, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in history. She is presently attending Paul M. Hebert Law School at LSU. Smoorenburg is the granddaughter of Theresa LaGrange and the late Bernard J. LaGrange of Patterson and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Smoorenburg of Patterson. The bride wore a sheath gown of silk charmeuse with a delicate silk chiffon overlay, designed by Winnie Couture of Atlanta. The gown featured a deep V neckline accented by sparkling Swarovski crystals and delicate embroidery and a sweeping train. Her chapel length veil of silk tulle fell past the train and was finished with a crystal-beaded edge. She carried a bouquet of white tulips, pink and white roses and stephanotis. Theresa “Tess” Smoorenburg, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Ashley Allison Bugea, Erin Lofton Cain, Kara Walker Faller, Brittany Jones, Megan LaGrange, Meghan Pritchett, Emily Wilson and Jamie Wilson. Bailey Smoorenburg, sister of the bride, was flower girl. The groom, whose mother is the former Patricia Bruyninckx of Alexandria, graduated from St. Louis High School in Lake Charles and the University of Richmond and Paul M. Hebert Law School at LSU, where he received a Juris Doctorate in law. He is employed by Gov. Bobby Jindal as a policy advisor. Wilson is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. John J. Bruynincx of Alexandria and the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles W. Wilson Jr. of Baton Rouge. Charles Brent Wilson, brother of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Beau Flavin, Andrew Foret, Taylor McMahon, Jeff Noles, Kirk Ranzino, Brian Smoorenburg, Jason Turner and Wesley Welch. Ushers were Ray Alcantara, Shawn Soulier, Charles “Vic” Vicknair and Clint Welch. Following a wedding trip to Cozumel, Mexico, the couple will reside in Baton Rouge. |
