Cydne Holden

By St. Tammany News

Salmen senior basketball player Cydne Holden is a three-year starter for the Lady Spartans. Last season, she averaged five points a game.

Holden also throws the javelin for the track team.

Off the court, Holden is very involved with the school.

She is the class president, a member of the Spanish National Honor Society, Spanish Club and Voice Club, and she is also on the cheerleading squad.

Holden has a 3.5 grade-point average.

Salmen girls’ basketball coach Kevin Anderson talked about Holden.

“Cydne is one of these steady players,” Anderson said. “She’s going to do the right things on the court. She doesn’t make many mistakes. She understands basketball, and she’s a team player, always looking for other players.”

Anderson added that when needed, she can surprise people with her outside shooting, but she can also go to the goal despite her size.
