SSA finishes 3-1 in Battle on the Bayou

St. Scholastica Academy earned a 3-1 record in the Battle on the Bayou Tourney held at the Alario Center.

SSA lost its opening game to Riverdale, 57-50, last Sunday. Kayleigh Chiasson and Monique Giarrusso finished with nine points each for the Doves. Then SSA topped Academy of Our Lady, 64-31, behind Chiasson’s 19 points. Elly Schoen contributed nine points.

The Doves played a double header on Wednesday.

SSA topped St. Charles Catholic, 62-50, with Chiasson leading the way with 22 points and Schoen finished with 19 points. Then SSA edged Pope John Paul II, 40-38, on Chiasson’s game-winning shot with just .3 seconds remaining. Carly Keller led the Doves with 12 points.

PJP (5-3) was led by Ashley Allen and Michelle with 10 points. Taylor Martin came off the bench to add eight points
