FHS beats Slidell

Fontainebleau’s Hannah Leumas and Lauren Ritch each scored two goals Friday to lead the Lady Bulldogs to a convincing 11-1 home district victory over the Slidell Lady Tigers.

FHS (6-1) remained unbeaten in district play at 4-0 going into yesterday’s match with Ponchatoula.

The Lady Bulldogs raced out to a 5-1 halftime advantage.

Sydney Robbins tallied first in the second minute assisted by Casey Adkins. Kaley Blanton followed just a minute later assisted by Ritch. Caitlin Leumas made it 3-0, assisted by Hannah Leumas in the seventh minute. Ritch got on the board, assisted by Hannah Leumas, in the 21st minute. Lauren Upton joined the scoring parade to close out the Lady Bulldogs’ first-half scoring in the 23rd minute.

Ritch tallied her second goal, assisted by Adkins, two minutes into the second half. Adkins then notched a goal just three minutes later on an assist by Blanton. Hannah Leumas then put in two consecutive goals, assisted by Sydney Robbins and Caitlin Leumas. Morgan Meyer notched a goal assisted by Adkins in the 75th minute. Ashley Wiles finished off the Lady Dawgs’ scoring.

Slidell’s Abbey Brown tallied the Lady Tigers’ lone goal on a direct kick from about 35 yards out.                

FHS named Gabriella Vince its top defender. FHS’ Kaitlyn Villars played the first 20-minutes in goal being replaced by JV player Hannah Hail, who finished out the match.

PJP II defeats Independence

Pope John Paul II’s Catherine Luparello and Ashley Allen combined for seven goals in a 9-1 win over Independence during a district road match Saturday. PJP (2-0) is 1-1 in district play.

Luparello scored four goals for PJP, while Allen scored a hat trick.

Amy Melendez and Emily Morris each posted a goal for the Lady Jaguars.

Salmen falls

to East Jefferson

Salmen lost to East Jefferson, 3-1, in the Lady Spartans district opener at home Friday.

Aerial Lara tallied the Lady Spartans only goal, which came in the second half, on an assist from Rosie Rogers.

Salmen coach Patricia Hailwood named Presley Long her top defender.
